About
To play music is so much fun and allows me to dive into a whole new world and switch off completely. With my songs I try to express things that touch me, and the lyrics and melodies often come up on the sofa, with the guitar in my hand and a cold beer on the table.
As a pure music listener over the years, I have been influenced by and cannot deny bands like The Smiths, The Cure, Joy Division, Pixies, Blur, Oasis, Stone Roses, and earlier The Beatles. I play a Fender Telecaster, produce with Logic Pro X, and am still in the project stage at the moment — but maybe Royal Target will become a full band soon.
Royal Target also stands for photography — capturing moments, textures, and stories from travels and everyday life. From retro airline memorabilia to Route 66 gas pumps, from Munich streets to the open road.

I feel like this track from Royal Target just made my Monday all come together; it's the perfect brand of bouncing post-punk, the sort that New Order made around the Republic area. I spent all morning listening to this on headphones, which is where these little details begin to reveal themselves, giving the song its own personality, beyond just a mirror of influences.
Beat The Deleteon SuddenlyRoyal Target hadn't previously been on my radar, but with this delicious new single, they're definitely a group I need to keep an ear out for. The guitars turn over and over carefully, seemingly frolicking in step with the precision drum work. Perhaps one of my favorite things to stumble upon in the last few weeks.
Austin Town Hallon Leave HerThis Munich based solo project has been something of a regular feature on the Beat The Delete pages, with numerous singles that cover just about every nuance of jangle-pop you can think of. This is the first time he has added jangle to early era The Cure though and he pulls it off with aplomb!
Beat The Deleteon Losing Your WayThis Munich based act has been a regular on Beat The Delete pages, incessantly releasing singles that cover all manner of jangly stylistics. This is perhaps the first time he has ventured into a slightly more 80s, dreamy, chiming aesthetic though and one that is made all the more perfect with the Peter Hook bassline core.
Beat The Deleteon SuddenlyI love the way the guitars turn over and over, playing between that gentle jangle and circular pop swirl that's so enticing. It almost has this subversive nature in its subtlety, creeping inside your brain and hitting all those emotional sensory notes that make a tune memorable.
